Archelaus barely escaped with his life, while thousands of Pontic soldiers were killed or captured. This crushing defeat forced Mithridates VI to seek peace, leading to the Treaty of Dardanos, which ended the First Mithridatic War and compelled him to relinquish his territorial gains in Greece and Asia Minor.
